Unfortunately due to the dwindling activity and lack of interest, the comm. will be closing in the future, once the new DR we are working on opens. In the meantime, events and Voice mingles will no longer be posted.

Mods can still be contacted per the usual methods.

When we have more information on the new DR available, we'll post about it at thecampusmods.

We three mods talked over the poll results and after taking everything into consideration, saw it best not to "pick" one side over the other. Our community is obviously pretty divided on the issue, so we thought it best to make the closest thing to a compromise as we could. Taking some suggestions from the "delete it" voters, we came up with a new rule to replace the old one that we hope everyone can be happy with!

It is as follows:

▶ Fancharacters who are involved with any canon character(s) romantically, related to them in any fashion, or closely-knit friends with them, need to have more to their backstory/personality than just their involvement with said canon character(s). Basically, we want to see fancharacters who stand on their own merits, who can talk about things other than X canon character(s), and don't fall into the Mary-sue trope.

We also edited these general rules to be clearer and more concise:

▶ Game transplants and previous CR are allowed. PSL transplants are also allowed as long as they don't break any of the above rules.
▶ Effect rooms can not be entirely new settings/places or contain massive set-pieces/monsters. They can, however, be filled with puppies.
▶ Basically, don't be a dick and don't make anybody else feel uncomfortable.
▶ Be considerate of your fellow muns and don't harass anybody for any reason.
▶ No god-modding, infomodding, and etc.

And we'd like to remind everybody about this rule~

▶ Make sure to tag entries with the series your character is from. This includes when you post or comment on an entry.

The rules and setting pages have been almost entirely rewritten in lieu of the coming ATP that we plan to submit to. Here's a run down cross-posted from Plurk to those who don't follow it:

>Added an arcade room, game room (tabletop and board stuff), laser tag room
>Cleaner, shorter descriptions of everything in the settings.
>Added specific breeds of rooms in the North Wing (definitely go check those out, guys).
>Put a few minor restrictions on AUs and Canons OCs (this shouldn't effect anybody we currently have, and if it does you are exempt).

>Cleared up any confusion regarding how people can FIND things in random rooms in the North Wing.

As for the IC comm, here are some guidelines for how tagging works:
‣ Omit the numbers in sequels ("MGS2" and "MGS3" both go under metal gear solid)
‣ Omit subtitles unless necessary, and abbreviate if wordy.
‣ Spin-offs get separate tags ("Metal Gear Rising" doesn't belong under metal gear solid)
‣ Games within a series that have little-to-no character crossing over and also has a subtitle...can have a separate tag! ("Fallout: New Vegas" does not go under the fallout tag.)
‣Try to use English tags if possible, unless the Japanese, etc. name of the series is more widely known.
‣Keep tags to letters, numbers, underscores, and colons only.

Can players have any input on the monthly events?
Yes! While we may have certain things planned for some months, player ideas and even player driven events would be a great thing to have! If you have any suggestions for an event please contact the mods. The community will be polled thereafter for interest and in the case of certain events (such as Cry Wolf), sign-ups will be had.

What happens if my character dies?
They wake up at least three days later in the clinic, superficial bandages over wherever any wounds would have been. Underneath there can be scars, cuts and bruises, or nothing at all. It's all up to you!

What if my character is inhuman?
You can keep them that way if you want, or you can humanize them.

What kind of characters are allowed in this DR?
See the rules.

I have an idea for a new standard room for the roster, or important setting additions to a previously established one, what do I do?
Just ask! We'll more than likely say yes, but this way we can add your interesting idea to the official canon of the DR!

My character built something crazy/did something that would be accessible/noticeable to all users and have a long standing presence...can it be canon?!
INDEED just ask the mods first. Also, you know, you'll have to tell us so we can add it to the setting page!
