This month's event is going to be different than all the others! It's going to be properly mod-hosted, involve puzzles, and first-come-first-serve riddle solving! The goal? It's mid-terms--time to break down the barrier! Oh, what wonders will lie in the outside world...?

Our basic break down so far is (and subject to change):
>The Voice hands out 1 of 5 riddles to unique groups of two(?)
>Groups are given maps of the Island and the Campus
>They must then try to find the specified location by solving the riddle
>Once character arrive at a location they will wait for IC confirmation from a mod to know if they've found the right area or not, and then they can commence searching or have NPC (mod) interaction. Mods will enter on occasion with hints if characters are searching without an NPC.
>Once the puzzle is found, the characters must report back to the Voice. Once all puzzles are found, a new post will go up for puzzle solving.

We will be dividing up the location finding and the riddle solving into two different posts--i.e. once all the riddles are solved we'll open up the puzzles for everybody to have a shot at too. Please let us know what you think about that!

THIS EVENT WILL HAVE A TIME LIMIT OF ONE WEEK. Groups that take too long run the risk of having another group reach the area and find the puzzle first. So please, stay relatively on topic. Remember this is your mid-term. All top-levels and threads should involve the search some how, but we WILL be making a top-level for mingling and questions.

Characters will break up into groups of two (feel free to plan ahead or just tag a random person), and will likely be restricted to only one-group at a time until that group fails or succeeds. That, or we might encourage thread-jacking for this event so groups of more than two can go looking at once. We're not sure about this, which is why were need your comments!

This event will happen during the week of the 20th, as opposed to the 15th, because we really need to iron some stuff out.

Any suggestions, comments, or concerns, feel free to comment! Your input is very much appreciated in this new experience for both you as players in the DR, and us as mods!

Hello, boys and girls! Are you excited for Halloween? Des, Cinders, and I sure are... but for a different reason.

From the 25th to the 29th, our own Pegasus J. Crawford will be hosting a masquerade ball. The 25th-28th will be in an open post for any characters to drop in as they want, have some punch, enjoy the dancing, all that. The 29th, however, will be in a closed post that requires sign-ups here for it. Why? Simple.

There's going to be a murder mystery.

On the evening of the 29th, the power will be temporarily knocked for a few minutes. When it comes back on, the guests will discover one of their own, dead in cold blood. It will be up to the rest to discover who the murderer is, and they'll have until sunrise on the 30th to manage it. After all, it's Halloween... so the dead may stay so, and if the murderer decides to slaughter more of them... Heheheh.

The murderer and victim will be decided by RNG; this means that all the details about the murder will be decided by the murderer and victim working together with the three of us that run it, meaning that the details of the mystery and danger won't be known until the post goes up. Don't worry if your character wouldn't willingly murder someone else, though! We have a plan for that, just in case. Alongside this, the victim's mun will be allowed to bring in another character so that they don't have to be left out.

However, because of the nature of the event and the fact that this is a Dressing Room, we have a few sad but necessary rules for the sign-ups:

1) You cannot be new here. Being a DR, brand new Muns have no track record that we can trust and if our murderer disappears in the middle of the event, it ruins it for everyone.
2) Your character has to be at least active in the events. It's true that a murderer is best served by blending into the background, but if there isn't even a chance of figuring out the mystery purely because the murderer isn't posting, well, that's no fun, is it? You as the mun must also be at least baseline active, and if you get picked as the murderer, willing to talk with us before the 25th.
3) No very young children, crack characters, or full-on beasts. Your character has to at least be able to comprehend the situation they're in and while humor is certainly welcome, this event is supposed to be a serious one. Crack characters or animals that can't really contribute only hinder, unfortunately, so they aren't allowed.

We'll be starting with ten slots, but if by some miracle we fill those up and you still want to join, post and let us know! The sign ups will run until the 21st and we only allow one character per person to start, but if we don't have the slots filled by the 18th, then we'll allow two per person to fill things up.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. To sign up, post your name, your character's name, and a way for us to chat with you (plurk, AIM, whatever).

We hope we can make this fun for you!

What's all this about? Well, while looking at that photo of Kaiba's dumb jet over Duelist Kingdom Island, we had an idea.

Let's make The Campus on a small island. Starting on the event this 15th, the invisible walls around the campus will suddenly atrophy, leaving the campus and its residents open to the outside world and elements. Weather will now be an issue.

The island around campus will be uninhabited by humans, but will have plenty of wildlife, and maybe even some signs of previous human life! Your characters will be able to swim in the ocean (but unable to go out too far, because mysterious riptides will inevitably yank them back to shore), hunt and gather food from the island, as well as explore some small cave systems and jungle expanses. The island itself is not terribly large, only sitting a few miles across the diameter at its longest point.

With this addition, we hope to enrich your school lives here at The Campus ♥

Read more about the setting change here. We've also clarified the layouts of the dorm, and added the Headmaster's Room to the central wing. Thank you Cinders for these suggestions!

From now on, unless something comes up or it's February, events will be posted on the 15th of the month, and mingles will be posted on the 30th of the month.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or otherwise, please feel free to drop a comment!

The next event will be a five-day long environment effect. As usual there will be opt-out places if you don't wish to participate. The start-post will be up some time next week! So we're thinking it will start the 13th, and last through the 18th.

As for the next mingle, that will be posted during the last week of the month, on Saturday the 27th.

We hope you all look forward to them, and any questions can be as usual directed at this post.

We will have a community-wide event effecting the status of the school starting on June 10th and lasting until June 13th. A mingle log for the event will go up, but you're also free to make your own posts. The event will involve the school flooding about 2~3 feet in areas. Some areas will have water-based wildlife, and your opt-out areas are the roof and spooky auditorium's stage and catwalk. After the event, everything will return to normal.

The monthly mingle/voice post will be on June 26th where the Voice will be able to interact with characters and make an announcement.

Any questions and concerns can go here!
