I still see Danny Phantom players on occasion... to say nothing of the fact Bets here got punched in the face by Danny himself during his voice test. 8'D; But yeah that seems to be one of the more prevailing western animation canons for whatever reason. I'm glad you keep an open mind!<3
I'll bet you the show is at least as hilarious as you're imagining it |D It is pretty unexpected, and the more I think about it the more I can compare it to MLP. After all I don't think anyone figured that cartoon would have such an interesting world, well-developed characters, impressive writing and plots, etc. But I think the main difference between PMatGA and MLP is that PMatGA only takes itself seriously when it feels like it, haha... a lot of the time it's intentionally cheesy and really endearing as a result.
btw I'm an animation student and generally obsessed with cartoons and critiquing/analyzing/knowing everything I possibly can about them, so if you ever need a recommendation for a (American/Canadian/European) animated series or film to watch or just want to know the state of the industry I'M ALL OVER THAT %D
